At one time or another either directly or indirectly, every resident of Suffolk County deals with our office. So if you are buying a home, satisfying your mortgage, filing a lien or judgment, grieving your taxes or interacting with the judicial system, we look forward to working with you.
You may obtain copies or certified copies of documents by visiting Public Access or by requesting them by mail. Requests by mail require the property tax map identification number located on the property tax bill, (include a photocopy with your request) or you may contact the Town Assessor’s office in which the property is located to obtain the property tax map identification number. In addition, if the Liber and Page numbers for deeds and mortgages are known be sure to include them in your request. Requests for other types of documents should include as much information as possible to identify the document, such as, an index number, name of business, corporation name, filed date, recorded date, etc. Note: Be sure to include the Suffolk County Recording & Endorsement Page in the document’s page count.
If the exact page count of a deed document is unknown and you are requesting a Certified copy, include a not to exceed check (see sample check below) for $10.00 per Certified copy requested. The total amount will be filled in on your check and a receipt will be returned to you with your order.
If the exact page count of a deed document is unknown and you are requesting a Plain copy, include a not to exceed check (see sample check below) for $5.00 per Plain copy requested. The total amount will be filled in on your check and a receipt will be returned to you with your order. MORTGAGE Document If the exact page count of a mortgage document is unknown include a not to exceed check (see sample check below) for $40.00 per document requested. The total amount will be filled in on your check and a receipt will be returned to you with your order.

If the exact page count of a Satisfaction of Mortgage document is unknown and you are requesting a Certified copy, include a not to exceed check (see sample check) for $10.00 per Certified copy requested. The total amount will be filled in on your check and a receipt will be returned to you with your order.All requests must be accompanied by a check or money order made payable to the Suffolk County Clerk.
Note: If you request more than one document at the same time, you may add the not to exceed amounts for each document requested i.e., the not to exceed for two mortgage documents is $80.00.
