Suffolk County Serving Veterans
Mission Statement: Suffolk County Veteran Services Agency is committed to aiding our county veterans and members of the U.S. Armed Forces as well as their dependents and survivors through the pursuance of veterans benefits at the county, state and federal levels and referrals to other agencies for possible assistance with dignity and respect.
Suffolk County is home to the largest population of veterans in New York State and has one of the largest veterans’ populations of any county in the United States. We take our responsibility seriously when it comes to providing services for those who have sacrificed and risked so much for this country.
It is the duty of this agency to inform and assist members of the armed forces, veterans, their dependents and survivors in relation to (1) matters pertaining to education, training and retraining services and facilities, (2) health, medical and rehabilitation services and facilities, (3) provisions of federal, state and local laws and regulations affording special rights and privileges to members of the armed forces, veterans and their families, (4) employment and re-employment services, and other matters of similar related or appropriate nature.
Our Veterans Service Agency website will regularly provide updated information on services from housing and career assistance to academic opportunities; thereby helping to ensure veterans and their families receive all benefits entitled.
